We have been stocking the Donegal Pens for the last two years now. Remarkably they are made by two school boy brothers, who have a workshop in their back garden in County Donegal.
When brothers Rónán & Conor McGarvey came into the shop to show us their handmade pens, we were blown away that two school boys were producing such a high quality Irish made product, we immediately placed an order and have been selling the pens steadily ever since.
The boys have since appeared on Nationwide, national Irish radio, German television and most recently the Irish Junior Dragon’s den, where they secured a substantial bursary from Ramona Nicholas.
Everyday we are asked about the Donegal Pens, the boy’s story has really captured people’s imaginations.
They have since produced a stylus pen, which has proven extremely poplular for smartphone and tablet users.
All pens are individually handmade in the boy’s workshop at Loch an Iúir, County Donegal. Each pen is unique, receiving personal attention from start to finish.
The pens are individually turned, polished, waxed and then carefully examined to ensure a high quality. There are pens in many types of wood including Bog Oak, Yew, Ash, Elm, Beech, Wenge, Olive, Walnut & Spalted Beech.
We are delighted to stock such a high quality Irish made product, and being made in Donegal makes them even more special!
